Roles and Responsibility

Kafka Support Engineer will be part of the team managing Messaging / Streaming applications to support daily activities including development and troubleshooting by closely working with application teams. The role will also have opportunities to work on API Gateways, Devops tools and Cloud Infrastructure.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide technical support, work on troubleshooting and resolution of issues reported by client teams on streaming applications with Kafka and API Gateways.
  • Setting up of Kafka multi broker clusters, topics, Zookeepers, Producers and Consumers to cater to high availability requirements on On preme as well as Cloud infrastructure.
Desired Skills
  • MUST have strong Kafka experience - Strong fundamentals in Apache Kafka development and operations. Possesses an established track record with Kafka technology with hands-on production experience and a good understanding of the Kafka architecture, fault-tolerance and scalability.
  • MUST Hands-on experience as a developer who has used the Kafka API to build producer & consumer applications
  • Experience with common Unix/Linux utilities, diagnostics, and monitoring tools 
  • Work experience with code deployment, Release Management and API Testing 
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure. 
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written, for technical and non-technical audiences 

 

Good to have skills 

  • Experience with API Management platforms such as APIGEE, Kong or other 
  • Experience with Docker or Kubernetes
